We are hiring a PRN Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at the St Joseph Sleep Center.

The St. Joseph Sleep Center located at St. Joseph Medical Center offers help in diagnosing and treating a variety of sleep disorders which are linked to serious medical conditions:

    chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • cardiac disease
  • renal failure
  • neurological disorders
  • enlarged tonsils or adenoids
  • impotence
  • gastrointestinal nighttime regurgitation
  • clinical depression
  • Polysomnography

Responsibilities

Polysomnographic Technologist performs all Sleep Disorder Center procedures, including but not limited to sleep data analysis and report generation, diagnostic polysomnograms, CPAP, Bi level and/or oxygen titration polysomnograms, and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, in a manner consistent with community and national standards. Assists the Sleep Center lead/director in daily operations of the sleep Disorder Center, including but not limited to scheduling, answering phones, and other duties as directed by the lead or director. May be responsible for staff education and training as needed. Safely manages the environment of care while providing quality services for all customers. Provides physical and supportive care and sleep related health education to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.



Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  2. Certified Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Therapist required.
  3. Current BCLS (AHA) Certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  4. Graduate of an accredited polysomnography program or respiratory therapy program preferred.
  5. Eligible for registry through the BRPT preferred.
  6. Minimum of 1 year technical experience working in a sleep lab/center preferred.
  7. Experience scoring sleep studies preferred
