The basics of this position:

The Senior Specialist, Fiscal Services performs duties necessary for budget development and management of restricted grants and contracts, coordinates financial reports and/or transactions, and may develop forms and procedures for internal and external programs.

What you'll do:



  • Coordinates with Project Director in the development and preparation of contract and/or capital budgets, providing guidance and assistance pertaining to budget and regulatory functions
  • Maintains detailed activity files for externally funded programs, compiles data to prepare financial reports as required by funding agencies, and prepares special reports as directed
  • Assists Campus Business Office and Project Directors in entering and correcting budget, encumbrances, and charges for each project, and assists campus and College Center Staff in resolving accounting and budget problems
  • Prepares periodic reports for grant expenditures and audit schedules for inclusion in annual financial reports, quarterly financial statements, and Treasurer's Report, and assists in internal and external audits
  • Performs account analysis and correction of identified errors
  • Manages fixed assets, including creating and disposing of surplus assets, and keeping the general ledger in balance for the fixed assets
  • Manages capital projects, including construction in progress, and tracks and manages repairs
  • Additional duties as assigned


Education, experience, and other requirements:

* Associate degree in Accounting or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
