Job Summary:

The University of Vermont Medical Center Sleep Program is seeking a motivated individual to assist in daily support for diagnostic and therapeutic testing operations. This role will act as a resource to technical staff and the department and help implement quality improvement standards, regulatory standards, patient safety standards, error prevention tools, methodologies, technologies, and resources. They will assist in gathering and analyzing patient information to identify and meet patient specific needs (physical/cognitive limitations, emotional/physiological status regarding testing procedures, pertinent medical and social history) and to determine testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician, clinical director, laboratory protocols and Tech Lead. The qualified candidate will possess the knowledge and skills to prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments as necessary. Experience in adult education techniques preferred. This role will participate in the professional development and education of all technical staff at the direction of Sleep Program leadership, incorporating evidence-based clinical teaching and learning strategies.

Education:
Associate's degree in a science or health related field, bachelor's degree preferred, or a minimum of 5 years' experience may be considered.
RPSGT or RST in good standing with the BRPT/AASM.
Clinical Sleep Educator (CSE) or certificate in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH) preferred or must gain CCSH or other approved advanced credential in the field of sleep within 2 years.
Incumbent must achieve 10 continuing education credits per year.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years demonstrating progressive knowledge and responsibility in the daily operations of sleep lab setting including polysomnography, patient care, troubleshooting, scoring sleep studies, equipment maintenance and critical thinking. Lead and preceptor experience preferred, especially in a health care setting.
