Position Description:

The industries we serve include commercial aerospace, defense, advanced computing, next-generation telecommunications, complex industrials, medical, and semiconductor capital equipment.

Summary:

Benchmark is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, where you will work closely with our engineers and managers to optimize and improve our production processes starting as early as October.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing and evaluating current manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the design and implementation of process enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and product development to ensure seamless process integration.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to analyze workflow and identify bottlenecks.
  • Collect and analyze data to support decision-making and process optimization initiatives.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for production issues.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on process improvement findings and recommendations.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Qualifications:

* Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a major in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field; Junior or Senior preferred.
* Solid analytical skills and self-motivation.
* Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization.
* Able to perform in a team environment.
* Active involvement with a variety of extracurricular activities
* Handle multiple activities simultaneously and ensure accurate and timely completion
of tasks.
* Proficient user of Microsoft Office Tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card holder required for access to ITAR restricted information and facilities.
* Local candidate to Phoenix metro area as onsite work will be required

Education: Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a major in Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field; Junior or Senior preferred.

Physical Location: Tempe, AZ - Headquarters
Work Schedule: M-F (Hours Vary)
Full Time/ Possible Part-time during school
