Come join us at St Jude as we begin a new chapter with the development of the Department of Imagining Sciences, a new department dedicated to using novel biomedical imaging and microscopy techniques to capture information about the structure and function of living tissues.

As the Administrative Director of the St Jude Department of Imaging Sciences, you will oversee departmental administrative activities. Reporting to the Department Chair, and working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.This position will develop and systematically coordinate the administrative services for the department, assisting with personnel recruitment at all levels and managing other administrative personnel, The Administrative Director will also participate in the strategic planning process and oversee compliance and quality improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage administrative budget of the department, tracking actuals & variances and rebalancing as needed.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department in collaboration with senior management. Manage strategic communications across departments.
  • Oversee administrative contract management and vendor management, ensuring compliance with institutional policies
  • Assist with event planning and recruitment of departmental staff, faculty and research personnel
  • Lead administrative team by driving people management processes in terms of goalsetting, performance management, development, and engagement
  • Develop annual goals of the administration team and provide oversight for overall execution
  • Manage strategic communication/ influence leaders across departments to meet team goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required

Minimum Experience:

  • 7+ significant years of experience in managing communications with cross-functional leaders/stakeholders of a strategic or sensitive nature
  • Experience in long-term resource planning and budgeting
  • Significant experience in vendor and contract management
  • Experience in leading a functional team
  • Previous exposure / general interest in biomedical research, imaging technologies, and innovation is preferred

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Administrative Director.
