Department Overview

Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our nearly 900 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and morethan 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E's successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.

Position Summary

Develops and communicates an integrated and optimized work plan portfolio for gas transmission, gas distribution, new business and electric civil work. Works with functional leads to establish the baseline strategic approach to work plan execution. Evaluates work portfolios ensuring associated costs, timing and resources needed are integrated and optimized. Develops contingency plans as needed. Monitors execution and updates portfolios for planning purposes. Drives strategic adjustments as needed. Works with key stakeholders to identify work plans for business improvements.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $118,000

Bay Area Maximum: $188,000

California Minimum: $112,000

California Maximum: $179,000

Work location is flexible toAuburn, or Angels Camp, or Auberry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes gaps in execution and identifies business improvements based on various sources such as benchmarking data, gas operations scorecards
  • Determines options if plans are off schedule or over cost and recommends plan changes to ensure work completion.
  • Develops and delivers presentations on specific strategic work plans to a wide range of stakeholders across the service territory
  • Develops and runs regular reports from multiple data sources
  • Develops detailed contingency plans for the portfolio of work in the annual and long-term plans
  • Develops tracking and reporting tools
  • Ensures resource balancing among projects throughout function.
  • Leads and facilitates groups through brainstorming and process mapping to help improve business processes
  • May coach less experienced team members
  • May lead specific projects for the department
  • Monitors completed and active work plans, tracking costs against the plan
  • Partners with functional areas to develop integrated work plans
  • Provides counsel and advice on operational and cost planning issues.
  • Quantifies the funding and resources required to execute work plans and work portfolios efficiently in financial and operational terms

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 7 years
