The Department of Anesthesiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time, non-tenure-eligible, clinician-educator liver transplant anesthesiologist at the ranks of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor to lead a rapidly growing and dynamic transplant service. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in clinical care and education. Responsibilities include providing safe, high-quality care for all transplantation candidates which includes their pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages of care to patients at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH). This includes participation in multidisciplinary patient selection conferences. Clinical activities will include caring for patients at varying levels of complexity and acuity in the realm of transplant procedures. Northwestern Memorial Hospital has performed more than 2,500 liver transplants. In 2023, our teams performed 138 liver transplants, including 13 adult living donor transplants. The selected anesthesiologist will participate in the educational programs of the department and medical school, which may include teaching and education of students and house staff. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to actively contribute to the research programs of the department.

Qualifications:

1. Robust clinical experience in liver transplant anesthesia

2. Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Anesthesiology

3. Medical licensure in Illinois or eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois
