Stanley Consultants is seeking a Structural Student Intern to join our Phoenix, AZ office. The Student Intern will be participating in structural analysis, design, and drawing preparation pertaining to civil and transportation related structures including bridges, retaining walls, drainage structures, and other miscellaneous structures. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to learn with a committed interest in structures. Primary duties will include working with our structural engineers to solve engineering problems and produce high quality design documents, plans, specifications, and estimates.

What You Will Be Doing:



  • Understanding engineering drawings and specifications
  • Performing engineering calculations
  • Back checking drawings
  • Assisting in field site visits of existing and proposed structures, including active construction sites
  • Performing quantity calculations and take-offs
  • Utilizing MicroStation to develop detailed drawings
  • Gaining familiarity with structural engineering software


Required Qualifications:



  • Must be currently enrolled and Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Must be at least a rising college senior
  • Possess experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Requires previous course work in structural engineering, concrete, and steel structures
  • Solid writing and communication skills
  • Previous experience with Microstation (or AutoCAD) is preferred, but not required
