Summary of Job Duties:The instructor shall be responsible to the Dean of General Education and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services. Course taught may include Comp I & II, American Literature I & II, World Literature I & II.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Teach 15 credit hours per semester and maintain 15 office hours per week.

*Develop and organize lesson plans, reference materials, syllabi, technology and other learning aids necessary to facilitate the effective delivery of course related instruction.
*Research and utilize innovative teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population.
*Maintain accurate and up to date academic records on students as directed by the supervising Dean.
*Schedules and maintains office hours to best serve the student. Advises students academically.
*Serves on department and College committees in a willing and cooperative manner.
*Maintains professional competence, and participates in professional development activities.
*Performs other related tasks as assigned. Qualifications:

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in English related courses

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous teaching experience in a classroom setting

Salary Information:

Salary Range: $40,000 to $45,000
