About the Role:

The Quality Specialist (blue collar) will work with the Quality Specialist (Supervisor) for incoming ingredients on quality & food safety related projects. This will include but is not limited to ingredient sampling & testing, Kosher & Halal program management, allergen management (as related to ingredients) food safety. Additionally, the Quality Specialist must assist in internal and third party audit prep and product innovation as applicable. Additionally, this position will receive incoming ingredients based on the Ferrero requirements. Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems. The Quality Specialist must also follow all GMP and safety requirements at the facility.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates, together with Quality, Sanitation, DCT, Corporate Food Safety and Production Team on new project design, implementation,
  • Collects and analyzes data regarding lethality of new products
  • Collaborates with Quality Specialist (Supervisor) on innovations, ingredient documentation, sampling/sensory, allergen profile, etc. of new ingredients.
  • Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and food safety are implemented, practiced, and maintained.
  • Assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental Management System within key process areas.

Who we are looking for:

B.S. in Food Science or related fields and 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Experience in:



  • Knowledge of product technology and process and food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of the scientific method and good lab practices.
  • Internal auditing, recording statistical data and analyzing production data to verify compliance or determine deviation from existing standards
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and SAP PM.
  • PCQI certified preferred; SQF or FSSC knowledge is preferred
  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively and influence.
  • Coordinating - Monitoring/Assessing performance of individuals, or process to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate.
  • Material Resources - Coordinating the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
