Position: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Frenchtown, NJ
Wage: $24.72 hr. + $.25 for shift premium. Pay can be up $29.75 based on skills and experience.
Shift: 2nd - 3:00 pm- 11:00 pm *Overtime and Saturdays may be required. Will start out 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on a hybrid shift for training (half first-shift/half second-shift) then move to 2nd.

While reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing support functions for

maintenanceoperations, helping with troubleshooting equipment and process issues.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on machines during the 2nd shift, including inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and replacement of parts as needed.
  • Document and report maintenance activities, identifying potential issues before they lead to equipment failure.
  • Coordinate with machine operators and other shifts to schedule PM tasks with minimal disruption to production.
  • Perform basic repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems during the 2nd shift, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving minor malfunctions in machinery, using tools and technical manuals.
  • Replace or repair worn-out or damaged components such as belts, filters, and bearings.
  • Maintain general upkeep of the facility during the 2nd shift, including tasks like changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and ensuring safety equipment is in good working order.
  • Monitor and maintain building systems, such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), during evening hours.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring maintenance activities are conducted in a safe manner.
  • Report any safety hazards or potential risks identified during maintenance work on the 2nd shift.
  • Work closely with other maintenance team members and departments, especially those on different shifts, to coordinate larger repairs or equipment upgrades.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving maintenance processes and equipment reliability.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Have basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
  • Have Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Familiar with safety standards and regulations in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Have prior experience in machine maintenance or a related field is preferred and experience with preventive maintenance programs and tools is an advantage.
  • Have the willingness to work the 2nd shift is required.
  • Understands that this 2nd shift role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of machinery during evening operations, contributing to the overall productivity of the facility.
