Summary or Description :

At Worley, we are dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to complex engineering challenges. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineering or Sustainability rising senior to join our team and contribute to our Direct Air Capture (DAC) project. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the emerging field of carbon management and work at the intersection of energy transition, carbon and strategy.

Purpose:

Are you passionate about sustainability and climate change? Join our Carbon Management Team and make a real impact on the fight against climate change. As an intern, you'll learn about carbon footprint analysis, and sustainable design practices. Your role will involve contributing to analyses, being an advocate for carbon, and integrating carbon considerations into project design and development. You will work closely with the carbon management team and other program stakeholders to ensure successful program outcomes.

Responsibilities:



  • Carbon Modeling and Analysis:

    • Assist in developing and refining carbon management models to accurately calculate embodied carbon for the DAC program.
    • Collaborate with project teams to incorporate carbon considerations into design decisions.
    • Assist in developing Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs).


  • Data Management and Visualization:

    • Work with program personnel and vendors to collect embodied carbon data
    • Develop visualizations to effectively communicate embodied carbon across the program.




  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the carbon management team and other program stakeholders, including the customer, to facilitate clear understanding of embodied carbon.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be comfortable working in ambiguity and extended teams with smart collaboration and communication skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools: Excel, Python, R (no prior carbon modeling software experience required)
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Willingness to learn about carbon regulations and voluntary carbon market requirements globally


Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in any field with a demonstrated passion for the environment, climate and sustainability


Preferred:



  • Understanding concepts in manufacturing, supply chain and related fields will be an advantage.
