Job Summary
The College of Veterinary Medicine is thrilled to announce an opening for a TES Inpatient Assistant - Veterinary Equine. This role involves providing essential patient care, including administering medications (IV, IM, PO, SQ), conducting hourly checks on all in-house patients, and assisting service technicians as needed.

Temporary Employment Services ( TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Essential Functions
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Instruction of veterinary students in various aspects of equine patient care and general horse handling; provide direct patient care, including, but not limited to physical exams, medication administration, obtaining blood, fecal and urine samples, and fluid therapy; maintain floor stock and cleanliness of the hospital by restocking and cleaning ICU, Isolation, main treatment areas and nurses' stations in equine barns.

Work Hours Mon - Fri, 8am - 7pm OR Mon - Thurs 11am - 11pm (hours can be determined upon hire)
