ABOUT SICK:

POSITION SUMMARY:

An intern at SICK is involved in the day-to-day activities within the business through immersion into different projects. The intern will have the opportunity to work within a team to gain knowledge and first-hand experience of what a career in this industry would be like. This position has a primary focus on supporting the annual employee engagement survey managed through Great Place to Work as well as research and development of talent & culture programs and initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the employee survey process by preparing materials, documents and tools to support the roll-out of survey results to the organization.
  • Assist with the development of communication materials such as publications, intranet web page design and other internal communication tools and content.
  • Support Talent Management programs and initiative such as succession planning, key talent identification, performance management and talent planning
  • Support Diversity, Equity & Inclusion programs and initiatives such as education, communication and strategic initiatives
  • Support other HR & OPD initiatives and projects through creative thinking and problem solving.
  • Work closely with the manager and a selected mentor to understand systems, processes, and key information.
  • Seek out information to learn how SICK operates as a business (products, departments, etc.).
  • Interface with other departments and interns to gain knowledge of the business, products, positions and more.
  • Provide innovative recommendations on how SICK can improve.
  • Complete a final presentation at the close of the internship that outlines the involved project(s) and knowledge gained.
  • Provide feedback on the internship experience at the close of the internship.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program within Human Resources, Human Resources Development or related program preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.

Other Qualifications:

  • Human Resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education/experiences and an interest in learning and developing HR and business skill set a plus.
  • Ability to self-start and learn on the fly.
  • Able to work well in fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Able to work in a general office environment.
