Job Description
The Opportunity The Department of Mathematics in the College of Arts and Sciences at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach Campus, invites applications for four tenure-track Assistant Professor positions to begin August 2025. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in the areas of Applied and Computational Mathematics. The candidate must hold a PhD in Applied Mathematics or related fields by the time of appointment. Candidateswith promising research potential in any areas of applied and computational Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science will be considered. The successful candidate should have strong research potential and a commitment to teaching excellence. Department of Mathematics faculty carry a three-three teaching load (or less depending on the research productivity). The candidate is expected to teach and supervise student research at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; produce peer reviewed scholarship in their areas of expertise, and to pursue external funding. College committee memberships and service to the University are also required. About the Department of Mathematics and the College of Arts and Sciences The Department of Mathematics provides the mathematical foundation for Embry-Riddle's various degree programs. In addition, the Department of Mathematics offers a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Bachelor of Science in Computational Mathematics as well as two minors, Applied Mathematics and Computational Mathematics. The Department also offers an interdisciplinary Masters in Data Science (MSDS) with multiple tracks that integrate the strengths of the other degree programs within ERAU. The hallmark of the degree programs, in the Department of Mathematics, is the industrial connection of the curricula that aims to prepare students for rewarding industrial careers. As such, the department focuses on providing students opportunities to see the applications of Mathematics in different areas of engineering, physical sciences, business and industry as well as government and non-government organizations. The College of Arts and Sciences (COAS) is the interdisciplinary hub of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
