Job Summary

Job Description

Objective:

Under the general direction of the Test Engineering Manager, prepares tests objectives, standards, methods, conditions and equipment. Identifies product capability and reliability by conducting performance, environmental and operational tests. Resolves testing problems by altering testing methods during tests; notifying manager to obtain additional resources. Documents test outcomes using the RTA Maintenance Database and additional spreadsheets.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Tests: Perform real-time analysis and testing of products using specialized equipment.
  • Data Collection: Gather and record data during testing processes.
  • Analyze Results: Compare actual results with expected outcomes and identify any discrepancies.
  • Report Findings: Document and report any defects, errors, or issues found during testing.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to improve product quality.
  • Maintain Equipment: Ensure testing equipment is properly maintained/calibrated.
  • Utilize Test Fixtures. Review customer specifications for requested tests. Ensures operation of equipment by following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams: Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
    • Assist production floor on process problems.
    • Make arrangement with outside test facilities for tests that cannot be performed on site.

Experience: 1-3 years

Education: Associate's or 2 Year Degree

Certifications: None

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using testing equipment (DMMs, Oscilloscopes, etc.), software; with the ability to read schematics and understand simple electronic circuit design.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to notice and document major/minor discrepencies.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
  • Communication: Provide clear and concise reporting of findings.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Scope of Supervision:

Travel Required: Negligible

Physical Demand (Special Considerations): While performing the duties of this job, the employee is consistently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, kneel/squat and bend. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
