Tutor - Chemistry

Spring, Summer, and Fall opportunities. Schedule will be on an as needed basis.

Tutor and assist students in academic studies in math and science for success.

• Tutor students' day and/or evening hours; remote/online or on campus
• Analyze student needs
• Answer student questions and clarify areas of concern
• Guide student development
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment
• Review classroom or curricula topics and assignments
• Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks
• Work with students to help them understand key concepts, learned in the classroom
• Teach skills to improve academic performance, including study strategies, note-taking skills and approaches to answering test questions
• Demonstrate academic best practices for specific subjects and assignments, including research and writing tactics
• Track progress, identify areas of improvement and help set goals for exam preparation
• Provide students positive and constructive feedback
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Associate's Degree or above from a regionally accredited institution in the content area (or closely related field) being tutored
• Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds and learning styles
