Georgia-Pacific Hummingbird, a division of GP Packaging, is currently seeking a talented and motivated individual to join us as a Structural Designer. This role is focused on creating layouts for our Hummingbird platform, offering a fantastic opportunity for someone starting their design career or for a designer seeking exposure to digital pre-print.

The Designer will collaborate with a diverse and talented group who share a passion for providing a competitive advantage in the product design arena. The ideal candidate will focus primarily on layout design, ensuring compatibility with our existing manufacturing capabilities and recommending improvements for key accounts. This position will report to the Designer Center of Excellence Leader.

Location: This position is based in Hummingbird's headquarters, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, near the Bengal's stadium. This is an in-office position with minimal travel up to 10-15% as needed.

What You Will Do

  • Support design efforts within our Hummingbird division, with a primary emphasis on layout design for digital pre-print.
  • Independently develop layout solutions compatible with existing manufacturing capabilities.
  • Collaborate within the Center of Excellence (COE) and across the entire Design Community.
  • Proactively identify and recommend improvement/optimization opportunities for customer accounts.
  • Manage project load while providing feedback to COE Leader on risks and key needs.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite 365 (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Teams, Artios CAD (or other CAD), Tops, and other software tools.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • A bachelor's degree in packaging science and/or experience with structural box design
  • Experience with Artios CAD or similar program
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with teams

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Corrugated structural design experience.
  • Digital pre-print or other pre-print design experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite, particularly Illustrator and Adobe DC
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant corrugated industry experience.
