Your Job

Georgia-Pacific's Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant in Alcolu, South Carolina has an incredible opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Technician. This is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment/processes and refine multiple skills.

Highly qualified applicants may receive compensation up to $40.00 per hour

For the first six months to a year in this role you will work a day shift position. The hours are 7:00am-3:00pm EST and the work schedule is Monday-Friday.

Our Team

Our Clarendon OSB facility in Alcolu, SC is one of Georgia-Pacific's newest facilities using some of the most advanced technology to create the specialty brand of Blue Ribbon Oriented Strand Board (OSB). This type of OSB is used for floor, wall, and roof sheathing in residential and light commercial construction applications.

What You Will Do

  • Troubleshoot and maintain Allen Bradley PLC and Control Logix
  • Read assembly drawings, schematics, and equipment layouts
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic circuits and control devices
  • Understands and uses data to improve productivity
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environment guidelines, policies, and procedures, wearing personal protection equipment (PPE)
  • Assist crew members and work in a team environment
  • Help meet or excel production quality goals

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Three or more years' of experience troubleshooting PLCs
  • Experience reading technical drawings and schematics

What Will Put You Ahead

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate or Technical degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing discipline
  • Experience with Electrical Controls
  • Experience using electrical measurement tool DMM
