HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

The Blending Supervisor will direct and coordinate day-to-day blending and large container production activities. Additionally, the supervisor will provide direction, training, and leadership to employees within the Blending Department. This employee will plan, organize, and carry out objectives related to production efficiency, utilization, safety, productivity, and quality. This position will ensure that customer needs are met through appropriate day-to-day allocation of people, equipment, and assets in the operations of the plant and will work with the management team, other Department leads, and Lube-Tech personnel to prioritize tasks and assign resources cost effectively to meet the customers' needs. This position needs to have flexibility in their hours to work any shift, weekends, and as business dictates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Function within the guidelines of the Lube-Tech's Purpose, Promises and Values.
  • Oversee activities in the blending and large packaging areas to meet production goals, safety, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate the flow of materials through the blending department, from raw materials to finished products. Assist in coordinating truck and rail deliveries and outbounds.
  • Participate in plant continuous improvement activities and processes.
  • Ensure product quality through Blend Specification, Finished Parts Documents, and other controls.
  • Develop and implement operating procedures designed to eliminate production problems and improve quality.
  • Maintain hourly and temporary direct labor time management within Lube-Tech time clock software.
  • Maintain plant cleanliness such that customer tours can be a positive marketing experience.
  • Assist in the planning and administration of policies and procedures.
  • Make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
  • Review and analyze production, quality control, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
  • Analyze, identify, and improve the cause for quality, safety, or production problems.
  • Become proficient in the use of Lube-Tech's manufacturing & inventory control system (JDE).
  • Assist Blending Manager in maintaining ownership of departmental metrics and objectives.
  • Select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the blending function.
  • Assist in developing training procedures and continuous improvement activities to move the company to be best in class.
  • Provide an emphasis on safety to ensure compliance with all pertinent government regulations and provide a safe environment for all employees.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Minimal travel required for this position, e.g. On occasion travel may be required between locations depending on business needs.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Education:



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree or some college (Preferred)


Experience and/or Training:



  • Minimum 4 years' experience blending materials using precise measurements and methods.


License/ Certifications:



  • Forklift Operation Certification.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of KPIs and manufacturing processes.
  • General Quality & Safety Awareness.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles.
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Basic mathematical abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Inventory Management System (JDE or equivalent).
  • Experience with ISO and Quality Management Systems (QMS) (Preferred)



PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk and climb staircases frequently. Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 70 pounds occasionally and push/pull drums weighing up to 400 lbs. occasionally. Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations. The employee must have the ability to work flexible hours or weekends as business need dictate. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Work performed in a warehouse environment and in extreme heat (>80 degrees) during summer months as well as outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat during summer months. May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during the production process. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - safety eye glasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required for this position. Work hazards - Safety concerns to include heavy products, light and heavy-duty machinery, forklifts, working in a congested and high activity warehouse. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
