Summary of Job Duties:The Gift Financial Manager reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration and is responsible for overseeing all gift activity for UADA, including but not limited to, gifts deposited with the Agricultural Development Council (ADC) of the UA Foundation, unrestricted direct gifts, restricted direct gifts, and direct endowed gifts. Responsibilities include day-to-day fiscal management of gifts in accordance with applicable policies, guidelines, regulations, and gift agreements to ensure donor intent is met and that UADA is a responsible steward of gift funds. Additionally, the position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to independently direct and manage financial activities and transactions related to gifts, and the flexibility and willingness to develop processes and procedures to support multiple objectives within UADA related to gift management and reporting.
Travel and irregular work hours may be required on an as needed basis. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Additional duties may be assigned based on departmental and organizational needs. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in business management, accounting, finance, or a related field, with at least one (1) of those years in a supervisory or financial/program management capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related area from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Previous experience in an advancement finance role with an institution of higher education or nonprofit.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Experience with Affinaquest.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively alone as well as with a team.
  • Ability to prepare and present oral and written reports to both internal and external personnel.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP).
  • Ability to apply an ethical code and good judgment, and to handle confidential materials and situations with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be punctual and dependable.
