Job Title: Test Engineering Intern/Co-Op Locations: Rockford - Assembly Summary of Objective: The Test Engineering Intern/Co-Op supports the Package Design and Test Engineering departments in the development and qualification of new and/or existing package systems for both internal and external clients through the gathering and interpretation of data through executed tests per industry and/or PCI standards. Reporting to the Principal Package Testing Lead, a successful Test Engineering Intern/Co-Op would utilize engineering skills and technical insights garnered from their education to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, technical documentation, test development, test execution, and fixture/jig design under the guidance of senior staff member(s). This role will work cross-functionally with Designers, Project Engineers, Project Management, Quality, Estimation, and Sales. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned. Responsible for test documentation and execution of various package systems to meet industry and internal guidelines/standards under guidance of senior staff member(s). Utilize CAD for the design of fixtures and jigs to support test facilitation, goals, and objectives. Support the sourcing and/or physical creation of functional test samples as needed. Conduct data driven decision-making for packaging design and optimization for performance, usability, and/or manufacturability under guidance of senior staff member(s). Participate in project quoting and revenue tracking for saleable design and testing services. Work in close collaboration with functional teams and stakeholders to support the commercialization of new packaging systems and improvements to existing formats. Analyzes/interprets test results and performs root-cause analyses as necessary under guidance of senior staff member(s). Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules. Attendance to work is an essential function of this position Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.
