Weston Solutions is seeking a Civil/Environmental Project Engineer to provide support for a variety of civil and environmental engineering projects including groundwater extraction and treatment system design, soil remediation and treatment systems operations support, groundwater and soil remediation investigation and treatment design, and regulatory compliance reviews.

Location: Okemos, MI

Expected Outcomes:

  • Provide engineering expertise to an established office supporting environmental operations within the State of Michigan supporting both state government and commercial clients.
  • Responsible for the coordination with Project Manager to ensure the completion of the engineering and remediation scopes within the required schedule and budget; they will leverage a nationwide team in the preparation of engineering design drawings and specifications; technical report writing; field investigations/site reconnaissance; project permitting and coordination with regulatory agencies; engineering cost estimating and analysis; engineering design calculations; bid and award services; RFI and submittal review, and construction phase engineering services.
  • Provide support for environmental projects including environmental sampling field work, data management/tabulation and analysis, subcontractor oversight, and reporting.
  • Prepare project scopes of work and budget estimates; coordinate with team on preparation of design documents; coordinate with internal QA/QC reviewers, financial analysts, and administrative assistants.
  • This position may require an estimated 30% local Michigan travel/field work for site inspections and meetings with client site representatives and construction contractors.
  • This position requires legal residency in the State of Michigan, preferably in Okemos or the greater Lansing area. Relocation assistance is available.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 5-10 years of experience. Michigan - Licensed P.E. certification or ability to obtain within 3 months through reciprocity.
  • Excellent writing/verbal communication skills for interaction with multi-disciplinary staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent organization and operations planning skills.
  • Self-starter, detailed oriented, and finisher.
  • Proficient in using typical business software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Adobe, etc.).

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $80,800 - $107,800 - $134,700
