Job Summary

Under the direction of senior analysts and developers, assists in the development, maintenance, and optimization of both new and existing data warehouse processes. Participates in query development, routine extraction and data analysis ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data for reporting and to fulfill departmental and district data needs. Aids in the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into the data warehouse. Uses technical knowledge and skills to provide support to internal teams, external end-users, and administration.

The salary range is $62,689 - 90,032 (12 months/260 days)

This position may allow for a hybrid remote work schedule (work from home for a portion of the workweek) within the state of Wisconsin.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Infomation Technology, Software Engineering, or related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Relevant coursework in programming, database management, and/or systems analysis.
  • Competency using SQL programming language for managing and querying databases.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server is an asset for this role.
  • Experience using SSMS or equivalent tools for querying, managing, and analyzing databases is a plus.
  • Familiarity with writing and deploying SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug data, software, and system issues providing timely resolutions.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office applications to enhance productivity and support team collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
  • Motivation to learn new technologies quickly with minimal support and guidance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses ability to multi-task and prioritize issues appropriately.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines with varying timeframes.
Responsibilities

  • Writing and optimizing SQL queries to retrieve data for analysis and reporting.
  • Interpreting, reviewing, and making modifications to pre-existing code structures.
  • Implementing data validation and cleansing routines to correct data discrepancies in the data warehouse.
  • Integrating data from multiple sources, including databases, flat files, and external systems.
  • Aiding in the creation of ad-hoc reports and analytical queries to support operational needs.
  • Assists in coding, debugging, and testing nightly build procedures and data warehouse integrations.
  • Ensuring compliance with district policies, data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying and resolving issues related to data integration, ETL processes, or system performance.
  • Monitors and enforces data quality standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data.
  • Collaborating with administration, senior team members, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements to ensure project deadlines and goals are met.
  • Providing technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting issues and answering queries.
  • Creating and updating technical documentation, including user manuals, system specifications, and process workflows.
  • Documenting code changes, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Effectively develop, implement, and integrate new technologies with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinating with different functional areas if required. Attends meetings as requested to provide technical expertise and advice.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
  • Performs additional tasks and duties as required.
