Salary Range: $57,900 - $118,000 (depending on location, education, and certifications) Location: Remote Hours Requirement: Full-time 40 hours per week Job Summary As a member of the Interpreter Education and Professional Development (IEPD) department, the Interpreter Education Specialist (IES) will work under the direction of an IEPD Program Manager. This department supports a culture of life-long learning, celebrating diversity, and advancing professional excellence in the field of interpreting. We are seeking dedicated professionals who are committed to educating and empowering interpreters and educators through the development and provision of courses, materials, and curricula. This dynamic and fast-paced position collaborates and supports many programs and projects being developed and offered by the IEPD department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Travel Requirements Travel Requirements: Less than 25% Education Preferred: Certification Credentialing from a national interpreter certifying entity (RID CSC, CI/CT, CDI, NIC, BEI, or NAD Level IV or V) and/or comprehensive state certification granted through a certifying entity such as a Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing preferred. ASLTA Certification is a plus. Preferred: 4 Year - Bachelors Degree Preferred: Certification Active participation and professional membership in Deaf community organizations, the field of interpreting, or Deaf studies is a plus. Experience Minimum Years of Experience Description 4+ years working experience as a sign language interpreter or Deaf Interpreter in a variety of settings preferred. 3+ years instructional design experience for web-based and instructor-led trainings a bonus.
