Requisition Id13744 Purpose: The Safety and Operations Support Division (SOSD) at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks to hire an Electrical Safety and Hazardous Energy Control Specialist for the ORNL Electrical Safety and Lock/Tag/Verify programs. This position will support in the implementation of the Worker Safety and Health Program for UT-Battelle (UT-B) managed facilities and missions. The position will support ORNL's Facilities and Operations directorate with integrating electrical safe work practices into work planning to ensure appropriate and effective controls are implemented. This position supports ORNL's ongoing mission to enable world class research and provide an effective and comprehensive electrical safety program which substantially reduces the threat of injury to life, and which adheres to Department of Energy (DOE) requirements. Major Duties/Responsibilities: This position will work in conjunction with the Electrical Safety and Hazardous Energy Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) and is responsible for supporting the implementation of the ORNL Electrical Safety and Lock/Tag/Verify programs. This position will serve as a competent person for NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace as well as 10 CFR 1910.147. This position supports ORNL's ongoing mission to enable world class research and provide an effective and comprehensive electrical safety program which substantially reduces the threat of injury to life, and which adheres to Department of Energy (DOE) requirements.
