The Student Services department in the College of Education & Human Development is seeking to hire a Receptionist.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position is responsible for providing general information as requested by telephone, in person, or in writing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Greeting visitors, ascertaining the nature of business, and directing them to the appropriate staff or faculty member.
  • Answering a multi-line telephone and directing callers to the appropriate staff member.
  • Taking messages and/or forwarding calls to voicemails.
  • Answering routine questions.
  • Directing more difficult questions to the appropriate advisor or staff member.
  • Sorting mail as it is delivered to the office.
  • Performing light typing duties and general clerical duties.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED and one-year receptionist or customer service experience.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Minimum of one year experience in a customer service role, preferably in higher education
