Quality Engineer - System Drives

Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
The work model for the role is onsite in New Berlin, Wisconsin
Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements.
You will be mainly accountable for:
*Analyze defective parts in MRB (material review board).
*Process Quality Notifications into the SAP Quality module.
*Send NCMR's (non-conforming material reports) to suppliers.
*Conduct part inspections and returns following 8D process.
*Identify top defective parts and assist with PSP (problem-solving process).
*Conduct part reworks to eliminate rework in production.
*Participate in Tier II meetings and support part issues to keep production running smoothly.
*Review and classify defects found in production cells. Calculate manufacturing DPU's (defects per unit)

Qualifications for the role
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering, in the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress

The hourly rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications, graduation year and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
