800 Washington Street (Show on map)
Sep 19, 2024

The Molecular Cardiology Research Institute (MCRI) is an internationally known institute with several principal investigators studying diverse topics of molecular medicine. The fellow will work closely with the principal investigator, his lab, and other members of this dynamic research institute.

The Molecular Cardiology Research Institute at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, invites post-doctoral applications for a position to study autophagy and apoptosis in cardiomyopathy and heart failure in the laboratories of Dr. Gordon Huggins and Dr. Howard Chen.

A highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow is sought, ideally with prior experience in molecular biology or related disciplines, to develop novel therapeutic strategies in heart muscle disease investigating the autophagy system. The Huggins and Chen Laboratories are leading this highly collaborative project that utilizes a myriad of cross-disciplinary approaches in its research, including: mouse models of heart muscle disease, in vitro cell-based assays, intravital microscopy, flow cytometry, state-of-the-art in vivo molecular imaging, cardiovascular and cancer murine disease models, cardiac function analysis, metabolism, multi-omics and signaling studies, extracellular vesicles, pharmacology, nanoparticle probes. The team's long-term goal is to translate the molecular insights gained from human genetic studies to a mechanistic understanding of disease that will lead to improvements in cardiovascular and human health. The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal Investigators on research projects and as needed, will be required to independently develop protocols and establish new methodologies in the laboratory. The applicant would be intimately involved in writing and presenting new discoveries. The position requires:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. MD, PHD or both in a relevant field of study (lab based-preferred).
