The College of Medicine - Phoenix invites YOU to join our team in the Translational Research Office!

We seek an extremely organized and efficient applicant for the position of Research Program Administration Officer I. This position will assist in carrying out the activities of the Arizona Biomedical Research Commission (ABRC) Educational Initiative grant. This grant funds high profile events such as The College of Medicine - Phoenix Research Symposium, Research Week as well supporting multiple workshops and invited speakers annually. The incumbent will handle all aspects of workshops and meetings, including determining availability, obtaining quotes, scheduling resources, working with clients, overseeing the successful outcome of events and invoicing. Additionally this position will assist in the day to day operations of the Translational Research Office which could include administrative duties. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a professional demeanor. A high degree of professionalism, organization, discretion, initiative, collaboration and ability to follow instructions while using good judgment and problem solving skills is expected. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are essential to daily job functions. The candidate must be capable of performing various tasks independently and under the direction of a supervisor.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • In support of TreO research events/workshops, will coordinate day to day operational and administrative activities. This includes creating timelines, resource requirements, working with other units to coordinate research events and creating budgets and monitoring event spending.
  • Main contact for internal and/or external stakeholders to coordinate event activities, deliver reports, etc.
  • Provides support on special projects such as Smartsheet implementation and tracking, website development and updates, acquiring research financial reports, and other related data.
  • Drafts program sponsor and other technical reports as described in the award and provides all deliverables.
  • Cross trained to provide backup support for iLab online project management platform that is used for organizing and administering research equipment scheduling, as well as equipment maintenance and research lab expenditure accounting throughout the College.
  • Cross trained to assist faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and staff on implementation of ORCID, creating PIVOT searches, and connecting with other existing resources, including graduate programs, IRB and IACUC.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to audiences of varying understanding.
  • Ability to work proactively and efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.

* Experience with prioritizing multiple projects and achieving desired results and deadlines.
