Position Summary
Are you passionate about working with student-athletes and fostering their growth on and off the field? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team and significantly impact our athletic programs. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is committed to excellence in athletic training and education.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate and build positive rapport with college-level student-athletes, coaches, and physicians.
  • Follow all state practicing regulations and adhere to guidelines set forth by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
  • Ensure compliance with all NCAA and CIAA rules and regulations.
  • Assist with all team sports and camps, overseeing team conditioning and training.
  • Provide coverage for other sporting events as needed.
  • Demonstrate self-accountability and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
  • Teach 6 credit hours in our Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science (HPSS) Department.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree in a related field is required for the teaching component.
  • At least 1 year of athletic training experience.
  • Ability to teach and mentor student interns.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other healthcare and medical professionals.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/ED certification.

  • NATABOC certification.
  • Eligibility for state licensure by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners.

Normal Work Schedule
Schedule will be 8 am - 5 pm. Nights and weekends will vary as well as competition of teams.
Department Required Skills
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in athletic training, health, physical education, exercise science, or a related field.

The candidate must be able to effectively communicate and build a positive rapport with college-level student-athletes, coaches, and physicians. The candidate must also follow all state practicing regulations and any applicable guidelines set forth by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification. The candidate will also be mindful of and adhere to all NCAA/ CIAA rules and regulations.

The candidate will be responsible for assisting with all athletic teams and camps. The candidate will oversee team conditioning and training and may also be required to assist with other sporting event coverage as needed. Self-accountability is an important aspect of the job.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
A master's degree in a related field is a must, as this position will require teaching 6 credit hours in our HPSS Department.

At least one year of athletic training experience, the ability to teach and develop the skills of student interns, and the ability to work alongside other healthcare and medical professionals are necessary. Strong interpersonal skills are also necessary.
Required License or Certification
Must maintain CPR/First Aid/ED certification, be NATABOC certified, and be eligible or state-licensed by the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners.
