Sr. Engineer, RFIC Design Exempt: No Safety Sensitive: No Pay Range: $136,000- $213,333.33 per year (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills) GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior RFIC (mmWave) Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and development of high-performance RFIC transceiver for our state-of-the-art mmWave solution. As a Senior RFIC Design Engineer, you will oversee the design, implementation, and characterization of high-performance RF/mmW/analog circuit blocks. Further, you will have the opportunity to drive innovative circuit design techniques and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products' performance and quality. There are multiple opportunities for talented candidates who have focused expertise in transmitter, receiver, synthesizer modules and chip top level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Implement end-to-end RFIC design, from concept to implementation, ensuring competitive KPIs for mmWave base station applications. 2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate RFIC block-level and system-level architecture, understanding and balancing performance, area, and power consumption requirements. 3. Provide feedback to package and PCB design/layout, importing models to simulation environment and run extensive simulations to capture the impacts of package and PCB on RFIC performance 4. Full IC Design Flow: In-depth understanding of overall IC design and verification flow, compensation, and calibration, bias circuit, power supply, power management, product yield and reliability analysis, design kits, foundry process, PDK and related design documents, production variations, support of evaluation board design, and design validation 5. IC Circuit Architecture and Tradeoff: Deep understanding of device physics and models, circuit architecture, and design tradeoffs. 6. Experienced in IC circuit design and analysis and critical layout for some of the following: power amplifier, Low noise amplifier, variable gain amplifier, mixer, filter, opamps, PLL/VCO. 7. EM structure: In-depth knowledge of EM structures: microstrip, combiners, coupler, transformer, directional coupler, mutual coupling and shielding analysis. 8. Product Support: Work with Applications, Product, Test and Manufacturing Engineers to help answer customer questions, assess field failures, support yield improvements, etc. 9. Simulation and Validation: Conduct extensive simulations, modeling, and validation of circuits using industry-standard EDA tools such as AMS and System Verilog to ensure robust performance and functionality across various operating conditions. 10. Silicon Characterization: Collaborate with the test team to define test plans and support silicon characterization efforts to validate and debug the chip's performance. 11. Design Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, design reviews, and data reviews ensuring efficient knowledge transfer within the team. 12. Intellectual Property: Contribute to the creation and protection of intellectual property through patents, solidifying our Kyocera's position as an industry leader. QUALIFICATIONS
