Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelorrsquo;s Degree preferred

AND

Experience:

  • 2+ years of related professional work experience in an academic environment and project management background.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

  • Excellent and accurate typing skills and ability to work independently with diligence and manage multi-task assignments are required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and organizational skills required. Knowledge of scientific terminology.
  • Familiarity with computer software and hardware.

Job Summary

A dual role serving as an administrative assistant (50%) and coordinator (50%) to support various members of PPCB faculty and SKCC Center leaders. 1) Provide full administrative/secretarial support to some faculty members of Department PPCB. 2) Provide management and operational assistance to the BCCE and GOC Directors on all organizational aspects and projects related to the research-supporting activities of both Centers

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • The Administrative Coordinator will be accountable for providing management and operational assistance to the Directors of the Blood Cancer Center of Excellence (BCCE) and Geri Oncology Center (GOC) on all organizational aspects and related to the research-supporting activities of these Centers.
  • Provide high-quality support for the BCCE and GOC while reducing administrative barriers and driving communication and process improvement efforts between both centers and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (SKCC) at Jefferson Health and associated departments.
  • Schedule, prepare, and run meetings, detailed documentation practices, and working with various entities across the system (i.e., RACE, ORA, SKCC CRO), strategic research planning, and provide administrative oversight for all BCCE and GOC-led activities.
  • Provide administrative/secretarial support to some faculty members in Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Cancer Biology (PPCB) in a discretionary manner.
  • Assist faculty with conferences and meetings. Maintain and prepare schedules; prepare itineraries; coordinate travel arrangements and prepare seminar announcements.
  • Responsible for handling day-to-day administrative needs and meeting deadlines.
  • Process Concur reimbursements, PaymentNet reconciliation, and process Payment Requests.
  • Maintain calendar-initiate/organize meetings for faculty requesting assistance.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agenda and take meeting minutes.
