Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician for an opportunity within the Muskogee, OK Quality Department. The Quality Technician will join a team and organization which is a world class manufacturer and distributor of tissue, towel, and napkin products. The Quality Technician will provide support to drive continuous improvement in compliance, and quality as Muskogee continues to transform and be a leader in our industry The position will report to the Quality Process Engineer. The pay will start out at $18.00 per hour. The hours for the position are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm to include weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.

Our Team

Located on the Kerr-McClellan Navigational Channel (Arkansas River) on about 640 acres of land, the Muskogee consumer products operation spans across approximately 70 acres (or 2,900,000 square feet) of manufacturing and warehouse space are "under roof" employing approximately 830 employees. We are the second largest employer in the Muskogee, OK area and 45th in the state! Our non-union facility operates on 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week, 365 days per year; housing 2 of the 13 largest tissue machines in the world and paper machines that produce an average of 900 tons of paper per day. Our finished product consists of a mix of 40% Retail and 60% Commercial.

What You Will Do

  • Operate and run lab equipment in a safe and effective manner
  • Finished product and base sheet testing
  • Conduct sample preparation and documenting results
  • Test, analyze and communicate all test results
  • Work to help meet and exceed quality expectations
  • Participate in Quality training for operations
  • Participate in trials and product commercialization
  • Collect and send samples
  • Train technicians on conducting lab tests
  • Work in a team environment
  • Perform laboratory testing
  • Escalate quality exceptions i.e., SIMS and NQS
  • Support quality manager and quality process engineer as necessary
  • Assist in internal and external audits

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with quality systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience supporting Paper Manufacturing operations
  • Experience troubleshooting quality issues
  • Experience with physical lab testing equipment, bulk testers, and rulers
