Position Summary

The CNC Machinist must be able to read and work from blueprints, as well as program, set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

* Setup and operate CNC Lathe using programs generated in Master Cam.
* Edit and optimize CNC Lathe programs for efficiency.
* Machine basic fixtures, and tooling to meet machining requirements.
* Measure and examine completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
* Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machine shop equipment.
* Operate and rig material handling equipment (overhead cranes, gantries, forklifts).
* Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* One to three years formal training (vocation or technical school).
* Five years previous experience in a machine shop and three years CNC machine operation.
* Must have own basic machinist's tools for machine setup and inspection.
* Proficiency in blueprint reading and machining techniques.
* Familiar with Machine Shop Safety and OSHA requirements.
* Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes.
* Experience in Master Cam programming is a plus.
* CNC Vertical and/or Horizontal Machining Centers experience is a plus.
