C&S Products is searching for an Inventory and Quality Control Inspector for our Distribution Warehouse in our Fort Dodge, IA facility. As an Inventory and Quality Control Inspector at C&S, you will be responsible for inspecting loads before they are shipped to ensure they meet our quality and accuracy standards. You will also be expected to maintain bin inventory accuracy. Your role will be crucial in maintaining our reputation for reliability and excellence by ensuring that every product meets our specifications and customer expectations.
Location: 1528 Cardinal Avenue, Fort Dodge, IA 50501
Pay: $20.00 hr
Shift: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
Measures of Success
  • Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of products and shipments to ensure they meet quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, including detailed reports on any discrepancies, defects, or non-conformities found during the inspection process.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all inspections comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot quality issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions and improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Training: Assist in training new warehouse staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and refinement of inspection processes and standards.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Maintain bin inventory accuracy by completing inventory counts on an ongoing basis.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in quality control or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a quality control or inspection role, preferably in a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent observational skills, and the ability to identify defects and deviations from specifications.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise reports.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with inspection tools and equipment, and the ability to use computer systems for documentation and reporting.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing issues.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks as required.
Working Conditions
  • Plant environment with periodic visits to the office area.
  • Work temperatures can vary due to outside temperatures.
  • Hours of work will generally be 7:00 am until 4:00 pm.
  • There may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns.
  • Noise level in the work environment varies with specific areas requiring hearing protection.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to the following food allergens, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, soy, fish, wheat, and eggs.
