General Position Overview

Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of measurement and calibration systems used in our manufacturing processes. Maintain high-quality standards by performing regular calibration, maintenance, and repair of measurement instruments, as well as analyzing and interpreting measurement data.

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's core values in daily interactions with internal and external customers
  • Perform calibration, adjustment, and maintenance of precision measurement instruments and tools, such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), and other metrological equipment.
  • Conduct measurements and testing on components, assemblies, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Analyze measurement data to ensure accuracy and precision, and troubleshoot measurement issues or discrepancies. Generate detailed reports and documentation of findings.
  • Support quality control processes by providing accurate measurement data and ensuring that all instruments and tools are functioning correctly. Assist in the development of measurement procedures and standards.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on metrology equipment to ensure reliable operation. Document and track maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of calibration and measurement activities, including certification documentation and calibration histories.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to metrology and quality assurance. Assist in internal and external audits related to measurement systems.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to address measurement-related issues and support process improvements
  • Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism and tardiness
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Metrology, Engineering, Manufacturing or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in metrology or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with precision measurement instruments and calibration processes is required.
  • Proficiency in using various measurement tools and equipment, including digital calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
  • Strong understanding of measurement techniques, standards, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting measurement data and generating accurate reports.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in performing measurements and maintaining equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement and calibration.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to document processes, report findings, and collaborate with team members.
  • Able to work varied hours to accommodate company and team needs

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
  • Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts.
