Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
- Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
- Performs procedures and /mentors trains other providers
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
- Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Consistently incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
- In-depth knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- Often provides case management for patients and their families.
- Often serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
- Provides palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
- As subject matter expert, promotes/provides staff education
- Covers MD vacations/MD EHR queue when physicians are on vacation
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education
- Current Minnesota RN license and current certification as Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing NP
- Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
- Prefer previous experience in oncology
- Physician Assistant
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Minimum of three years' experience as a practicing Physician Assistant
- Prefer previous experience in oncology
- Current MN state licensure and current CPR certification required
- Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
