Responsibilities

We are looking to add Middleware Administrators to our IRS MIDS Program's high performing team. These administrators will Deploy, Administer, Support and maintain middleware on diverse platforms with varying interfaces establishing Platform-as-a-Service solutions for a Federal Government client. The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be comfortable working in a team environment and willing to work flexible hours. On-call and after-hours support is a requirement of this position.

What you will do:

    Assess and identify appropriate changes and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Perform middleware system administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, problem resolution, and secure configurations.
  • Perform product installation, administration and documentation infusing automation whenever possible and relevant..
  • Work individually or in a team on various system projects related to Linux, Windows and Application support.
  • Plan, prepare and apply maintenance fixes and upgrades to middleware products.
  • Assist application support team with high level problem program debugging through heap and thread dump analysis.
  • Provide system support including off shift on call support when required.
  • Handle Data Center Operations with Business & Mission Critical applications
  • Handle escalated incidents or high critical tickets
  • Predicting Risk/Impact and Participating in Major Changes
  • Technical Transition & Documentation skills
  • Provide root cause analysis on the major incidents/problems
  • Monitoring of logs and alerts
  • Troubleshooting & Vendor coordination
  • Should have scripting knowledge for scripted installs, comfortable with using Virtual Center.
  • Research and provide new and innovative middleware solutions with the agility and flexibility to respond swiftly to changing business needs.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires at least 8 years of experience with BS/BA. Additional 4 years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • Must have Middleware administration and management experience across a variety of products.
  • Must have deployment and management experience of middleware products in an Enterprise environment.
  • Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium sized engagements
  • Incident, Problem, Change Management experience
  • Virtual Machine management experience
  • Strong knowledge on troubleshooting skills on Windows/Linux servers & VMware
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Strong enterprise server operating system administration experience.
  • Experience working with myriad middleware and web services products (IIS, SQL, Symantec, Apache, JBOSS, Java, etc.)
  • Knowledge on any monitoring tools like SNOW, VROPS, VRO , HPE One View
  • PowerShell/PowerCLI Scripting skills
  • Datacenter Architecting - Wintel Stack experience is a plus

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
