Position Summary
The primary purpose of this Business Officer position is to serve as the Finance Manager to the Department of Radiology. The position will report to the Director of Operations and Strategy. They will work closely with their supervisor as well as the Associate Chair for Administration in all aspects of managing the financial health of the department. Position will oversee accounting and financial management along with financial reporting for the Department of Radiology. Position will also oversee all contracts & grants administration (pre and post award) for the Department of Radiology. Duties also include planning and preparing of annual UNC Faculty Practice and UNC School of Medicine budgets and oversight of the Medical Foundation accounts for the department. Position will develop and implement employee training, including talent identification, training initiatives, ability to provide guidance and motivation to increase staff productivity for all finance, accounting, and contracts & grants staff. Position will work with the Director of Operations and Strategy on the financial and contractual matters of strategic planning and business development for the department. The Finance Manager will supervise the department's accounting and finance services staff, and the contracts and grants administration staff, ensuring goals are established, deadlines are met and each area is maintained in accordance with University, Hospital, State and Federal policies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Mid-career with Masters and 1-2 yrs experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 yrs experience
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Applicants must have a strong background in financial management, business administration, and the ability to independently analyze and resolve issues and problems. Applicants must be able to effectively communicate and feel comfortable with public speaking. Applicants must be proficient with Excel and other financial management tools.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer candidates with strong background in contracts and grants, finance, financial reporting, and managerial experience. Experience working in a clinical department/area and at a University level is preferred. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience with UNC financial systems.
