Marcum LLP is seeking a Third Party Plan Administrator to join our growing and well-established national firm in Rochester, Michigan.

The Plan Administrator position provides day to day administrative support to our clients and business contacts, including managing internal and external client expectations, proposals, correspondence and administrative compliance projects. We will provide the opportunity for training to become a certified professional in the field of pension administration.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services and a proven track record of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare benefit planning illustrations and present them to clients.
  • Conduct year-end testing and compliance work to ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors and referral partners, acting as a liaison to maintain service quality.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while providing excellent customer service to clients.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in order to meet all deadlines promptly.
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of plan administration.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients and team members.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in pension administration or a related financial services role is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is a plus.
  • TPA credentials such as QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator) or QKC (Qualified 401(k) Consultant) are preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines.
  • Ability to develop a personal network within the business community and other firm service lines for the purpose of business development.
