Job Description

I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

Role Overview:

Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy across Dotdash Meredith's digital properties, focusing on email campaigns, browser push notifications, and audience retention initiatives. Your efforts will aim to maximize web traffic, revenue, and achieve other defined objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Strategy: Write and curate strategic, engaging content for newsletters, browser push notifications, and other digital experiences to enhance online engagement for Dotdash Meredith brands.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with online editorial, email, social media, and analytics teams to optimize engagement and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Assist in educating editorial teams on leveraging data to foster persistent audience engagement and growth. Provide actionable recommendations for new strategies to meet evolving goals

Please note that you will be working from Wednesday to Sunday. This is a full-time position and candidates must be available to work East Coast or Central hours.

Hybrid 3x a week- Des Moines, IA
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

II. Essential Job Functions

Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

  • Build audience interactions through data-driven content selection and distribution via email, browser and push notifications, and other channels of engagement

  • Create and maintain a content plan for newsletter programs as assigned

  • Communicate effectively with editorial, production, and analytics teams to develop email content and deploy messages that align with achieving business goals

  • Utilize reporting tools to determine content strategy and plan that drives business goals such as site traffic, pageviews, and revenue.

  • Optimize content using accurate analysis of performance data

  • Use data and analysis to inform decision-making around content selection to maximize marketing performance

  • Assist in developing editorial analytics and reporting for Dotdash Meredith editorial teams to and work closely with brands to optimize content and new content creation

  • Assist with developing marketing copy that drives conversion for programs such as subscriptions, video and other editorial products

  • Coordinate with production team to ensure accuracy of all deployments

  • All other projects as required to meet traffic and revenue goals

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum three years related professional experience.

  • Directly related internships may be considered in lieu of professional experience.

  • Digital marketing and/or social experience preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fundamental understanding of the web, user-generated content tools and social media.

  • Good critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills are necessary.

  • Must possess an understanding of basic Excel and/or Google Sheets functionality.

  • An interest in emerging trends within the email and/or social industry.

  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent time management skills for multiple projects with a range of scope.

  • Experience with Google Analytics, MicroStrategy, or Looker preferred.
