Position Summary

RHD South Dakota Shared Living is HIRING a Training Coordinator!

The Training Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of training solutions and courseware, that supports and advances the ongoing growth and development of employees primarily within the RHD South Dakota programs located in Sioux Falls. In program emergencies, the Training Coordinator may be responsible for working with other RHD state programs for a short period of time, but this would be uncommon.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, training delivery and facilitation, maintaining the latest training processes and procedures, tracking training status on courses for employees, maintenance of accurate documentation in employee training files, and assistance with the execution of corporate education initiatives at local locations. This position will also be responsible for assigned administrative duties within the office to include but not limited to data entry, employee file management, contractor file management, client file management.

Hours of work are typically 8am to 4pm, Monday-Friday. However, the Training Coordinator must be flexible to work hours outside of the typical timeframe when necessary for scheduled trainings, or when asked to do so.

Essential Duties and Functions

Coordination and Facilitation of Training

  • Coordinates and facilitates trainings as outlined by the program's service delivery, local requirements for training compliance
  • Coordinates new hire orientation and annual regulatory trainings including scheduling trainers and all training sessions, both instructor-led and online, as well as facilitating training sessions as needed
  • Completes CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Training through American Red Cross Completes MANDT System Instructor Training

Collaboration and Training Assessments

  • Collaborates with corporate Training and Education team to generate training assessment tools for measuring transfer and retention of knowledge and skill after training. Collaborates with program management to assess training needs and identify training solutions to promote compliance and individual growth and professional enrichment. Assists in the development and implementation of plans of correction for incidents, when applicable.
  • Monitors and evaluates trainings provided by other trainers to ensure consistency and accuracy of information being taught.
  • Identifies needed refresher and re-certification trainings and communicates these needs to program leadership and training participants. Maintains professionalism and models appropriate interaction and boundaries with consumers, and staff always.

Administration and Record Keeping

  • Prepares and disseminates compliance training reports to program and/or divisional leadership to ensure training compliance of staff. Obtains, and stays current with all required training certifications.
  • Maintains all staff admin and training records, as well as locked files for all printed training documents.
  • Weekly credit card reconciliation
  • Filing and maintaining background checks , 1-9, and E-Verify files for all personnel

Managing all personnel files

  • Managing phone calls and other correspondence as necessary
  • Create, file, and update records and databases with personnel, financial, and other data Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Coordinates and facilitates trainings as outlined by the program's service delivery, local/county/state/federal agency requirements for training compliance.
  • Coordinates new hire orientation and annual regulatory trainings including scheduling trainers and all training sessions, both instructor-led and online, as well as facilitating training sessions as needed
  • Completes all training, including onsite training, as assigned to meet funder regulations and organizational requirements.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma / GED equivalency. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience working within an IDD/Human Services environment.
  • Prior training experience and knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Intermediate skill level in computer usage in various applications, including MS Office, and the ability to quickly learn new technical systems and tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to support and implement RHD Values and Beliefs.
  • Flexibility to be available during weekdays, weeknights, and weekends as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License, and acceptable driving record.
  • Physical examination
  • State and agency required background and drug screenings.

Working conditions

Additional Special Working Conditions:

The Training Coordinator may have direct contact with individuals that have co-occurring disorders including Intellectual Disabilities (IDD). Willingness to work with and support individuals with IDD is essential for this position.

  • Medium: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

  • Direct Supervisor: Co-supervision by Program Director/Training Manager
  • Ancillary Support to: Program Leadership, Program Specialists, Residential Support Staff and Administrative Staff
