Description

LinQuest is seeking a Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE)/Digital Engineer (DE) to join our team in Destin-Fort Walton Beach, FL supporting AFLCMC's Armament Directorate with model-based systems engineering development, integration, and digital engineering ecosystem (DEE) assessment of armament and weapon systems.

Responsibilities:

Provide on-site Model-Based Systems Engineering and digital engineering development, integration and digital engineering ecosystem assessment in support of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Armament Directorate. Provide support to a variety of tasks and projects, to include but not limited to:



  • Conduct a detailed assessment of the existing digital engineering ecosystem(s) used by the Armament Directorate to include the infrastructure (networks, tools, interoperability, security), data (authoritative sources of truth, metrics, models, data strategy, MBSE integration, and configuration management), processes (verification and validation, technical management, user experience), and workforce (skills and common understanding, use of DE artifacts and government reference architecture).
  • Interact with systems engineers and Government customers to understand/define DEE life-cycle requirements
  • Develop a detailed roadmap to improve the existing Armament Directorate DEE to better meet current and future Government needs
  • Execute tasks supporting the Armament Directorate DEE improvement roadmap, such as integrating existing MBSE models, creating/standardizing a data dictionary and related data elements, linking program schedules and other program management tasks into the MBSE framework, etc.
  • Evaluate and improve data transfer and integration activities between the Government and system integrators, where needed
  • Create and document for the Government an analytic framework for modeling and simulating potential system of systems and family of systems materiel solutions and concepts in appropriate scenarios in order to evaluate and recommend modernization changes
  • Develop and/or use existing DE tools to internally integrate Armament Directorate DE models capable of leveraging modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) capabilities. This could include helping to set-up, install, use, and maintain MS&A software across any of the Armament Directorate DE environments within the DEE.
  • Assist or perform trade study assessments of, and recommend changes to, candidate munitions systems
  • Design, develop, and test critical software applications in all phases of product development and operational deployment
  • Translate customer and system requirements into robust specifications for software design with a test-driven approach
  • Successfully communicate project plans, tracking details, status updates and risk mitigation plans to the cross-functional team
  • Support development of a capability to procure, use, and maintain necessary MBSE and related DEE software and tools
  • Investigate and solve DE environment system issues
  • Provide practical and innovative solutions to challenging problems facing the Government


Required Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of industry, federal government, or SETA/FFRDC experience supporting federal government acquisition within a digital environment
  • Experience assessing DEEs
  • Experience integrating MBSE models together, and experience integrating MBSE models with other DE artifacts to improve and enhance program management
  • Experience developing executable digital engineering architectures, system models, and simulations
  • Project leadership
  • Able to perform all duties both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of object modeling and object-oriented design concepts and techniques, including familiarity with UML or SysML, C++ or C#, Python, CAMEO and/or Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA)
  • Experience using configuration management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bit Bucket
  • Active SECRET clearance


Preferred Experience:



  • Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, or related engineering field
  • TS/SCI Clearance
