Description

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Work with the new product launch team and customer to define product specifications and quality requirements.
  • Assist with all aspects of project launch from concept to design to sourcing to production.
  • Address and resolve quality issues raised by customers. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their quality requirements.
  • Lead problem-solving activities/root cause analysis using corrective action methods and involving cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with production and support teams to resolve quality issues identified in production processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components, including performing audits and assessments.
  • Support APQP process; FMEA reviews and PPAP submissions for the product launch process.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure effectiveness of ISO 9001 documentation.
  • Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mechanical OR Electrical

  • Mechanical: Advanced understanding of drawings, GD&T and measuring tools (calipers, meters, microscopes, etc.).

OR

  • Electrical: Advanced understanding of electronics design of PCB assemblies.

AND

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality or related. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years Automotive Quality Engineer experience.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, SPC, DOE and root cause analysis. Kepner Tregoe or similar problem-solving a plus.
  • Able and willing to actively pursue certification or is an active certificate holder in American Society of Quality's (ASQ) Professional Development program.
  • Demonstrated time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Exhibits strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to actively listen - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow SoundOff work instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
  • Must be able to handle and work with small parts.

Working Conditions

  • Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting
  • Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required
  • May work remotely
  • Mostly normal business hours with occasional need to flex hours
