About the Role: Data Manipulation and Analysis: - Define, aggregate, and utilize both structured and unstructured data to support descriptive and predictive analytics across the business. - Perform statistical analyses on data to drive business insights and support decision-making processes. - Ensure data quality by identifying and correcting subtle errors in data and analyses. Collaboration: - Work closely with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and content teams to perform data aggregations, mappings, and manipulations of key datasets. - Develop relationships with peers in analytics across the company to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing. Software Development: - Develop and maintain software for the analysis and manipulation of large datasets. - Contribute to the production codebase, ensuring code is efficient, robust, and maintainable. - Utilize multiple approaches to troubleshoot and resolve issues when progress slows down. Monitoring and Instrumentation: - Lead efforts in instrumenting and monitoring our production Generative AI application. - Analyze events and analytics to improve application performance and user experience. - Utilize REST APIs for data integration and application enhancements. Communication: - Narrate data-driven stories to both technical and non-technical audiences through analysis and visualization. - Write coherent and clear documentation, whitepapers, and research notes. About You: Technical Skills: - Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python and Object Oriented programming. - Intermediate knowledge of SQL and/or Pandas for data manipulation and analysis. - Familiarity with REST APIs (a plus). - Experience working with production codebases (a plus). Soft Skills: - Ability to adapt to various roles and responsibilities; enjoys wearing multiple hats. - Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles. - Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and reproducible results. Analytical Skills: - Ability to spot data quality issues and address pipeline and model problems. - Ensures that analytical results are actionable and aligned with business objectives. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with instrumenting and monitoring production applications. - Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques. - Familiarity with big data technologies and architectures. - Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning methodologies.
