Your responsibilities

Position Overview:

Perform technical service-related functions for the tk Uhde high pressure service offerings in Americas. The Field Service Engineer position focuses on selling life cycle support solutions to the industrial end user market. Primary markets will be the chemical industry business, mainly in the Gulf Coast. The services are for thyssenkrupp high pressure machines, equipment, and systems. The person is responsible for supporting the service portfolio offer at all accounts in the defined markets. The focus will be on industrial facilities with tk Uhde high pressure installed chemical production (LDPE) equipment. This business will be direct to end user market. Field Service Engineer will work closely with local thyssenkrupp Uhde Business Unit, German Manufacturer's Representatives, and other potential Channel Partners to achieve goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair work of installed mechanical equipment at Customer Sites
  • Repair of customer equipment at future tk Uhde workshop
  • Oversee machining repair work of High-pressure OEM Parts
  • Assists in cultivating long-term relationships with the appropriate key account decision makers. Develops a complete understanding of the organization's structure and key buying influences of our clients.
  • Preparation of training material and presentations, performs classroom and on hand training of contractors, maintenance- and operator folks
  • Assist the sales team to develop scope of work during site visit
  • Provides management with suggestions for improving volume, market share and service portfolio

Your profile

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Mechanical and/or millwright experience
  • Experience with instrumentation and hydraulics
  • 8 or more years of successful experience in with mechanical equipment in production environments
  • High level verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Inherent ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Organization and time management skills to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel up to 70%
  • Experience with rotating equipment (pumps and/or valves)

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Experience with End Users highly desirable
  • Knowledge of customers and competitors within the defined territory is a plus (gulf coast USA).
