Job Summary

The duration for this temporary role is approximately 12 months.

This position will support the UCSF Research Coordinating Center (RCC) to Reduce Disparities in Multiple Chronic Diseases of the NIMHD Health Equity Action Network (HEAN) - a national consortium - with a variety of responsibilities including extracting, organizing, and interpreting data from various sources, working independently and directly with data transfer, data management, and data harmonization activities; assisting with planning and conducting the annual national meeting; performing literature searches and synthesizing results concisely; and assisting with drafting, and proofreading, and submitting reports to NIMHD.

The project analyst is responsible for supporting the HEAN RCC and assists with developing procedures to ensure the effective operation of the coordinating center. Working closely with the Co-Directors and Unit Directors and Assistant Directors, the project analyst will oversee various aspects of the coordinating center, including meeting scheduling, training materials, and communication. Applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates resources and alternatives and makes sound recommendations.

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications

Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
