Job Summary:

The highly ranked Department of Statistics is seeking excellent candidates for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in the area of statistics. The selected candidate will mount a vigorous research program while making significant contributions to the department's teaching mission. The successful candidate will contribute to an inclusive, fair, and equitable environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community.


Responsibilities:

The incumbent will teach undergraduate and graduate statistics courses; train graduate students; conduct research; publish results in academic journals in statistics, data science, and closely related fields and present them at national and international meetings; and participate in professional and university service and outreach.

The successful candidate, as a member of the College of L&S, will proactively contribute to, support, and advance the college's commitment to diversity among all aspects of their teaching, research, and service.

PhD
PhD in Statistics or similar by start of appointment.


Qualifications:

Demonstrated excellence or demonstrated potential for excellence in statistics research, very broadly defined. Interest and ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ability to interact with an interdisciplinary and collaborative intellectual community. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with fostering or the ability to foster an inclusive and equity-centered teaching, learning, departmental, and research environment where all can thrive.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
