Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant III position provides day-to-day support for the Department of Political Science; as well as department support, this position provides administrative assistance to the Department Chair and the Department Administrator. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage competing priorities as well as the ability to work independently in dealing with the diverse elements of the UW campus. The individual in this position must demonstrate a commitment to facilitating a welcoming environment, willingness to continue understanding diversity, equity and inclusion within higher education. This position assists in organizing multiple facets of the department that requires the ability to prioritize responsibilities, exercise initiative, self-motivation, and critical thinking with complex tasks or problems. The individual must thrive in a team environment as well as be comfortable with independent judgement. Responsibilities: Provides general administrative support, while exercising discretion, to the administrator of a department or division of the institution or to the administrator of multiple institution programs, services, and activities.
